Prism3 Agency: Shopify SEO, GEO and CRO, Explained
Prism3 Agency is a founder-led Shopify agency for Australian and US DTC brands. Three services: SEO, GEO and CRO. Who it suits, who does the work, what it skips
Quick answer: Prism3 Agency (Prism3 for short, at prism3.agency) is a founder-led forensic growth agency for Shopify DTC brands in Australia and the United States. It does three things only: Shopify SEO, GEO (getting a store quoted in AI answers such as Google’s AI Overviews) and CRO (finding and fixing where a store loses buyers). Talha Butt, the founder, runs every engagement and wrote this page. Prism3 does not run paid ads, email management or organic social.
Want to see your own store first? Tell us about it.
If you searched our name, or an AI assistant sent you here, this page is meant to be the one place that says plainly what Prism3 is. The facts below come from our own About and service pages, collected in one spot so a founder can check them and an assistant can quote them accurately.
If you are checking any business by name, the reliable check is the domain. Ours is prism3.agency.
The last two sections show how to check any agency’s description of itself, and how to publish a clear description of your own business.

The three services, and when each is the right one
Prism3 has three services, always listed in the same order: SEO, then GEO, then CRO. The order runs from getting found to getting chosen: search brings buyers to the store, AI answers bring a second group, and conversion decides whether either group buys. An engagement can be SEO, CRO or both together, with GEO included alongside SEO.
SEO: getting found on Google
SEO is the work that makes a Shopify store findable by buyers who are already searching for what it sells. It covers a technical audit (crawlability, indexation, speed, structured data), keyword strategy based on buyer intent and commercial value instead of raw volume, on-page work (titles, headings, internal links), content strategy, and ecommerce SEO for collection pages, product pages and category structure.
Reporting is a progress report every two weeks and a monthly stakeholder report, tied to revenue and conversion, not impressions. There are no ranking guarantees. Nobody outside Google can promise a position, and an agency that does is guessing.
Decision rule: SEO is the right first lever when buyers search for what you sell and your collection and product pages are not showing up for those searches, or when the store has technical problems such as duplicate URLs. Our Shopify SEO guide covers the work in detail.
GEO: being quoted in AI answers
GEO stands for generative engine optimisation, and you will also see it written as AEO or AIO. It is the work of making a store’s content clear and structured enough that AI systems such as Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini can read it, cite it and recommend it. In practice that means structured data, entity-based content architecture (being clear about who you are and what you sell), citation-friendly formatting such as FAQs, summaries and definitions, and monitoring which brands the assistants actually name.
Two limits are worth stating, because most GEO marketing skips them.
- It is not sold on its own. At Prism3, GEO is included alongside SEO. It is not a separate product.
- It sits on top of SEO. Google’s documentation says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, no special optimisations and no special schema.org markup. A page has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet, and Google says that even then, indexing and serving are not guaranteed. That fits how we sell it: alongside SEO, never instead of it.
We also cannot control what an assistant says, so we do not promise citations. For the difference in plain terms, read SEO vs GEO: the real difference and what AI SEO is.
CRO: converting the traffic you already have
CRO is conversion rate optimisation. At Prism3 it is called forensic CRO, because it starts with evidence about where a store loses buyers, not with a list of tactics. The service has four parts: a six-phase audit, a CRO strategy, A/B testing where traffic supports it (multivariate testing only where traffic is high enough), and hands-on implementation in your Shopify store. Each change is approved by the client first.
The six phases of the audit are:
- Quantitative data analysis, including a check that tracking is accurate.
- Qualitative data analysis: session recordings, heatmaps, dead-click maps and customer reviews.
- Competitor analysis of your three closest competitors.
- UX and usability heuristics analysis.
- Copywriting analysis.
- A recommendations report where each fix is scored with PIE (potential, importance, ease).
Tracking comes first because every later number depends on it. If GA4 and Shopify disagree about how many orders you had, any optimisation is built on a guess. Our Shopify CRO audit guide walks through the steps, and forensic CRO vs regular CRO explains the difference in approach.
Which service does your store need?
A rough mapping from what you see to the lever that usually matters, and the first thing to check before you spend anything:
| What you see | Likely lever | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Competitors’ collection pages show for your category searches and yours do not | SEO | Search Console: which queries and pages bring impressions to your top collections |
| Plenty of visitors, few orders, mobile much weaker than desktop | CRO | Whether GA4 purchases match Shopify orders, then session recordings |
| Buyers ask an AI assistant about your category and your store is not named | GEO, with SEO | Ask the assistants the questions your buyers ask, and note which brands and pages they name |
If two rows describe you, start with the one where the data is cleanest. When you cannot tell, which to fix first, SEO or CRO sets out a decision process. This table is general guidance, not a diagnosis of your store.
Who Prism3 is for, and who it is not
Prism3 is built for owner-operated Shopify DTC brands in Australia and the United States. In practice a good fit looks like this:
- The store runs on Shopify and sells direct to consumers.
- Annual revenue is roughly $150K to $1M.
- A founder makes the decisions without a committee.
- Conversion has plateaued, or organic visibility has stalled, and the founder wants to know exactly why.
- You can share analytics and store access (GA4, Shopify, session recordings).
It is not a fit if you are:
- An enterprise brand that needs a full account team.
- A brand without product-market fit or data to act on.
- An agency looking for white-label work.
- Looking for someone to manage paid ads.
- A B2B or local-service business outside Shopify DTC. We have published work in those sectors, but they are not our focus.
- Mainly measuring brand awareness, not revenue.
Who writes and runs the work
Talha Butt, the founder, personally runs every engagement from the diagnostic through delivery. There is no hand-off to a junior account manager. Talha has four years of growth marketing experience across different industries and now focuses on DTC brands.
On AI tools, our approach is simple: we use AI tools for data analysis, reporting, documentation, project management and routine execution. Strategy and judgement stay with people: Talha and our growth operators.
Saying this plainly follows Google’s guidance on helpful content, which encourages site owners to make clear who created the content, to add accurate authorship such as bylines where readers would expect them, and to explain how content was produced, including any role played by automation or AI. If an agency will not tell you who does the work or how, that is information too.
How an engagement works
Every engagement starts the same way, with a free 30-minute diagnostic. We share your Shopify store on screen and name two or three conversion leaks live, and tell you whether they are worth fixing. No pitch.
After that, the formats are:
- Monthly retainers for CRO, SEO, or SEO plus GEO.
- Monthly packages that combine services.
- One-time sprints with a fixed price, a defined scope and an end date.
Retainers and packages run month to month, with no long-term lock-ins. Current prices are published on our site, so this page does not quote them. We do not guarantee rankings or AI-assistant citations. We promise the work and the reporting.
How to check any agency’s description of itself, ours included
Use this checklist on any agency before a call. It takes ten minutes.
- Is a named person responsible for the work? You should be able to see who they are and what their background is.
- Is there a short list of services, and an explicit list of what is not offered? A long service menu is a reason to ask who actually does each piece.
- Does it say who it serves? Platform, revenue range and markets. Vague answers like “ambitious brands” tell you nothing.
- Does every number name its source and date range? A result with no source or window is a claim, not evidence.
- Are the terms stated in plain words? Contract length, what a month includes, how to leave.
- Is the description the same everywhere? Compare the website, the social profiles and any directory listing. If the name, services or location differ, ask why.
How to make your own business easy to identify
A clear description helps people first and machines second. Google’s Organization structured data documentation says this markup helps Google understand an organisation’s details and tell it apart from others. A few facts from that page are worth knowing.
- There are no required properties. You add the ones that apply, such as name, alternate name, URL, logo, and a link to a page on another site with more information about you (
sameAs). - Google suggests putting it on your home page, or on a single page that describes the organisation, such as an About page. It is not needed on every page.
- Google’s general structured data guidelines say markup must describe content visitors can actually see on the page. Do not mark up facts that appear nowhere in the visible text.
On our own site, the home page markup describes Prism3 Agency as a professional service (a schema.org type that sits under Organization), with the name “Prism3 Agency”, the alternate name “Prism3”, the URL, the logo, the founder, the three services we offer and links to our social profiles. The About page carries the founder’s details.
For your Shopify store, the same approach works:
- Pick one exact business name and use it everywhere.
- Add Organization markup to the home page with the name, URL, logo and profile links.
- Make sure every fact in the markup also appears in visible text on the site.
- Write an About page that names the people behind the store.
- Keep your profile descriptions consistent with the site.
Markup is a clarity aid, not a switch. Google’s Organization page says it does not guarantee that features that use structured data will show up in search results. Our guide to schema markup and AI citations covers what is worth adding and what to leave out.
